Youth Group Lesson Teachers Notes: Christian Emotions- Anger

Christian Emotions
Anger

Define to differentiate
What is anger? Ask Teens
Anger defined: A violent passion of the mind excited by a real or supposed injury
Some synonyms of anger in the Bible
Wrath, Violent anger, the effects of anger, or in some case refers to the just punishment of a crime
malice, Extreme enmity of heart, or malevolence, unprovoked spite (worse than anger)
hatred, Great dislike or aversion, hate, enmity
indignation, Anger or extreme anger mingled with contempt disgust or abhorrence also 2nd Corinthians 7:11 a holy displeasure at ones self for sin

Is anger good or bad? Ask teens

Psalm 139:21-24, right after David tells God there’s people I hate he asks God to try his heart, he’s confident his hatred is just. Why? Psalm 5:4-5, Deuteronomy 6:13-15. If God can be angry it cannot be all bad...

What about the New Testament?
Of the 234 uses of the word anger in the Bible guess how many are in the New Testament? FIVE The word angry in the Bible 44 times New Testament SEVEN

The first use of the word anger in the New Testament? Mark 3:5 Jesus Himself experienced anger. Other examples Titus 1:7, Ephesians 4:26

So is anger and hatred ok then? Galatians 5:19-21 hatred is listed as a work of the flesh right next to witchcraft, now Matthew 5:22

Look back at Ephesians 4:26, sin not- anger is an inescapable emotion that even Jesus Christ and God the Father experience, anger in itself is not always sin but there are some types of anger that are always wrong

  1. Unchecked anger, which leads one to sin. Thy wrath- wrath is the manifestation of anger God says be angry but don’t let that anger drive you to actions or thoughts which are sinful. Ask teens what sins does anger cause you to commit?
2. Unfounded anger Matthew 5:22 said without cause, so many times we get angry over dumb things, or we get angry at someone for something they didn’t even do before we know all the facts.
3. Anger caused by our sin, I hate my dad he made me..... pride, rebellion, etc caused that anger to exist and that is not ok.

What anger is acceptable?

  1. Anger toward hard hearts, yours or others, now not being angry with them but with the hardness of their hearts, an anger that stems from love, you don’t want someone to go to hell but they won’t listen to the gospel and it’s understandable to get frustrated about that. Or as Paul so eloquently put it in Romans 7:14-24, concerning himself. Look back to 2nd Corinthians 7:11   Does it anger you that the vast majority of so called Christians are doing absolutely nothing to reach the lost?
  2. Anger towards sin Galatians 5:24, 1st Corinthians 15:31 kill your flesh every day. Does it upset you when you know you’ve done wrong? Or are you the people in 1st Timothy 4:2 “Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
  3. Anger towards any unrighteous unjust or ungodly thing. This would be the hatred that David spoke of in Psalm 139:21-24

Sermon Notes: Confidence

CONFIDENCE
JSL

Confidence defined: MODERN DEF Trust or faith in a person or thing.

People are confident about a lot of things in their lives, some are confident that Christianity is a fairy tale, others are confident that it is Truth. Being confident doesn’t make someone right but having no confidence means you are uncertain or doubtful which in some cases may not be a big deal. But when it comes to your eternal never dying soul... you may want to have some confidence to what you believe and why.

With that in mind let me start off 2019 by asking just a few questions:

1. Are you Confident that the Bible is true and should matter to you.
Proverbs 30:5 “Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. Matthew 24:35, Mark 13:31, and Luke 21:33 all tell us that “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.” Gods word is pure and it is eternal, it is how we live clean lives according to Psalm 119:9
It was penned by dozens of Authors over thousands of years with no errors or contradictions all under Gods authority and leadership as 2nd Peter 1:21 states “For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.”
It has been proven to be the most accurate book historically, archaeologically, and scientifically.  101 FACTS AND FOREKNOWLEDGE SCREENSHOT

So I ask again, are you confident that the Bible is true and that it should be important to you?

2. Are you Confident that your His
Hell is real, it was made by God as a place to punish the devil and his angels but when mankind sinned it became a destination for us as well. It is eternal, and when you die it is too late to figure out that you were wrong about salvation.

Turn to Ephesians 2:8-9, Galatians 2:16, and Titus 3:5
Baptism, good works,, repeating a prayer, YOU MUST BELIEVE! How do I know that I am His? Romans 10:10-11 states “For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.”

Does that sound like you? How about this 2nd Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” Has that ever happened to you?
Here’s another 1st John 3:14 “We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.” DO YOU LOVE GODS PEOPLE? Do you believe in your heart? Are you not ashamed? Are you a new Creature? ARE YOU CONFIDENT that your His?

Last one 1st John 2:3 “And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
how do I know if i am saved? How can I be confident that I am His?
  1. I am not trusting in my works,
  2. I believe in my heart and have confessed with my mouth the lord Jesus,
  3. I am a new creature old things have passed away,
  4. I love Gods people and I do my best to keep his commandments.

ARE YOU CONFIDENT THAT YOUR HIS?
If you say yes I know that I am saved but maybe I haven’t been doing all that I should for Him I encourage you don’t just be confident that your saved, be confident that your surrendered. The only person who will never let you down, stab you in the back, lead you the wrong way, fail you, disappoint you hurt you, the only one who loved you enough to pay your sin debt Himself is Jesus Christ!
You trust Him with your soul why not trust Him with the rest?
Are you confident that your saved, and surrendered?

3. Are you Confident that He loves you
ODD question doesn’t God love everyone? Turn to Psalm 11:5, Romans 3:23 tells us all have sinned, God hates sin and He hates the wicked but He loves humanity so much that He gave us a way of salvation. John 14:6Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.Romans 5:8 also tells us “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ dies for us” The Bible goes on to say in verse 10For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

God had an enemy, you before you were saved, yet He loved you enough to pay for your sins in the blood of His only begotten Son. Look at 1st John 4:10

One amazing thing about God is that He is No respecter of persons, God loves you big or small smart or dull, athletic or slow, rich or poor if you are saved He calls you His child in Romans 8:16-17. You may feel sometimes like God cant love someone like me, all I do is mess up, He is so righteous and I am so sinful but what did Romans 5:8 just tell us? “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ dies for us

4. Are you Confident that every moment thought and action of your life will be judged?
Proverbs 15:3, Hebrews 9:27
  • For the bad Christian judgment does not remove your salvation if you are a child of God but it does burn up all you’ve done that wasn’t eternal 1st Corinthians 3:11-15
  • For the good Christian, eternal rewards in heaven that not everyone will get!
  • For the lost teenager: Judgment means this, Revelation 20:14-15

Last question: Are you Confident that God desires your life to be His?

I’ll give you the answer, He does, 1st Corinthians 6:20For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.

Sermon Notes: Obedience

Obedience
JSL

Obey 69 uses, Obedience 12 uses all nt, Obedient 16 uses, Obeyed 41 Uses. Total of 138 uses in Gods word

Law of first mention: Obey Genesis 27:8 Father commanding Son to obey him.
Last mention: Obey 1st Peter 4:17 What is going to happen to the lost?
What’s God have to say about obedience? 1st Samuel 15:22-23 “And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king. Obedience is better than sacrifice, disobedience.
What does God say about disobedient people? Proverbs 30:7 nothing good for the disobedient.

So lets look at what Gods word says that we ought to obey and what gods word warns us not to obey? Guesses as to what we’re supposed to obey? Rulers, parents, Gods word, God above man.

Titus 3:1 Hebrews 13:17 Rulers, Hebrews speaks of ministerial rulers and Titus speaks of secular rulers. This can be difficult because they are all human, make mistakes, hold grudges, have different personalities etc.

Ephesians 6:1 Colossians 3:20 Parents, some parents genuinely make it harder on their kids to be obedient to them but it is the job of the child to obey not the job of the parent to be worthy of obedience.

2nd Thessalonians 3:14 The word of God, Christ Himself said in John 14:15If ye love me, keep my commandments.” We cannot say we love God if we disobey His word.

Acts 5:29Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.” God over man, this is where the Christian can disobey rulers and parents without being wrong. God above all others must be the final authority in your life. Man says it’s ok, God says its sin.... it’s sin. Man says it’s odd God says be a witness.... be a witness

Any guesses as to what we should not obey

Romans 6:12-14 Sin, obedience to sin makes sin your master, sin being your master makes your life misery either now in the present or when you die. A life lived for sin is an empty life.

So three reasons why obedience is good for us.
  1. The Bible commands it, what we just saw rulers, parents, Gods word, God above all
  2. Christ did it, let’s look to the example we are supposed to pattern our lives after, Jesus Christ

Did He obey His earthly rulers? Matthew 17:24-27, taxes from a fish
Did He obey His father? Philippians 2:8And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

obedient unto death, God didn’t ask you to die for Him, he asked you to live for Him.
Did He obey the word of God? Matthew 21:1-4 dozens of times in the Bible you find Christ fulfilling the scriptures that were prophecies of Him!
Did He obey God over man? Matthew 16:21-23
Did He ever obey sin? 2nd Corinthians 5:21, 1st Peter 2:22, 1st John 3:5 all testify that Christ NEVER sinned.

So reasons obedience is good for the Christian, 1. God commands it 2. Christ did it and lastly
3. It’s beneficial!

Beneficial to the cause of Christ, Matthew 5:16 obedience is one thing that separates Christians from infidels and highlights Christ in us. So few people obey anyone at all anymore just being obedience is a tremendous testimony to the lost.
Beneficial to the lost world. Without Christians who obey God and His great commission the lost world would remain lost. Romans 10:13-14 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of white they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

Beneficial to you,

1.You cannot be saved without obedience, “I’ll get to Heaven my way!” No you MUST come Gods way, John 14:6
2.You cannot be Christian without obedience, there’s no way to say “I am Christ like.” if you aren’t obedient when Christ Himself was.
3. Obedience to God never hurts, don’t drink means no beating your family, don’t steal means not getting caught, don’t lie, don’t murder, don’t harm yourself, etc...

Obedience doesn’t make you a slave, it makes you a Christian. How obedient are you?

Teachers notes on Fundamentals of the Faith Lesson Four Holy Living

Holy Living

Once saved the bible is clear that an individual's life will change,
The change
Romans 6:6,12-14, Ephesians 4:22-24, 1st Peter 1:15-16

What does it mean?

Holy defined:
Properly, whole, entire, or perfect, in a moral sense. Hence, pure in heart, temper or dispositions; free from sin and sinful affections. Applied to the Supreme Being, holy signifies perfectly pure, immaculate and complete in moral character; and man is more or less holy, as his heart is more or less sanctified, or purified from evil dispositions. We call a man holy, when his heart is conformed in some degree to the image of God, and his life is regulated by the divine precepts. Hence, holy is used as nearly synonymous with good, pious, godly.

Holy living means

Separated from the world (not sinning)
Pure living- Proverbs 30:12
Clean living- Isaiah 64:6, 1st Corinthians 6:11
Apart from the world- 2nd Corinthians 6:14-18

Sanctified unto God (actively obeying God) Romans 1:1
Not just “not living for the world” but “living for God” Christians who try to not live for the world but refuse to surrender to living for God find themselves not living at all, and they quit.
We have been purchased
Living for God above yourself, Galatians 2:19-20, 1st Peter 2:24, Romans 14:8

Satisfied Hebrews 13:5
(being content in Christ) if you act like you need something other than God, (drugs, alcohol, popularity, relationships, etc) what does that tell the lost? What you need is more of Him

Holy living is separated, sanctified, and satisfied living

Fundamentals of the Faith Lesson Three Salvation

 Lesson Three
Salvation

The most important thing in this life is to know for certain whether or not you have been “saved” from the penalty of sin. Gods word tells us that the penalty of sin is death, and that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God, and that man cannot redeem himself; this leaves us with a great need, if I am lost in sin and I cannot find my way out I need someone else to rescue me. I need to be saved. Every day across the world people are physically saved from burning buildings, car accidents, criminals, and more, yet what is more important than your life being saved from death, is your soul being saved from sin, death, He'll, and judgment. The topic of this lesson: What must I do to be saved?
As always we will use Gods word as our textbook, beginning with Ephesians 2:8
 By Grace
1st Timothy 1:9

Definition of Grace: The free unmerited love and favor of God, the spring and source of all the benefits men receive from him. Layman’s terms grace is receiving some good thing undeserved whereas mercy is having a deserved punishment withheld.

Why we need grace: 2nd Timothy 4:8,God is the righteous judge. God cannot and will not judge unrighteously, just as a good earthly judge must judge and convict lawfully, God the righteous judge must judge and convict according to His law.  Romans 6:23 The wages of sin is death, and not only death but an eternity of real torment in a lake of fire, Revelation 20:15.
We have all, willingly, broken Gods law in some way, at some point in our lives, Romans 3:23, because of our disobedience to Gods law we have earned for ourselves the penalty of sin which is eternal death, Mark 9:43-44, Psalm 49:6-7,because of our sinful condition we are unable to redeem ourselves. Like trying to wash an oily surface clean with a rag covered in oil it cannot be done Isaiah 64:6, Romans 3:20, Galatians 2:16.
It is for this reason, the helpless condition of man that we must be shown grace, or we would never be saved. The great news is that God is willing to provide Grace to help in time of need!

How much grace will God give?
James 4:5-8 More!
The grace of God shown through the blood of His Son has covered all the sins of the world for all time! Sins that are past,Romans 3:25,your past cannot keep you from being saved, Hebrews 10:10-12 Your future cannot take away the grace God has given!

Through Faith
Hebrews 11:1

Definitions of Faith: Belief; the assent of the mind to the truth of what is declared by another, resting on his authority and veracity, without other evidence; the judgment that what another states or testifies is the truth. I have strong faith or no faith in the testimony of a witness, or in what a historian narrates.

2. The assent of the mind to the truth of a proposition advanced by another; belief, on probable evidence of any kind.

3. In theology, the assent of the mind or understanding to the truth of what God has revealed. Simple belief of the scriptures, of the being and perfections of God, and of the existence, character and doctrines of Christ, founded on the testimony of the sacred writers, is called historical or speculative faith; a faith little distinguished from the belief of the existence and achievments of Alexander or of Cesar.

4. Evangelical, justifying, or saving faith, is the assent of the mind to the truth of divine revelation, on the authority of God's testimony, accompanied with a cordial assent of the will or approbation of the heart; an entire confidence or trust in God's character and declarations, and in the character and doctrines of Christ, with an unreserved surrender of the will to his guidance, and dependence on his merits for salvation. In other words, that firm belief of God's testimony, and of the truth of the gospel, which influences the will, and leads to an entire reliance on Christ for salvation. Being justified by faith. Romans 5. Without faith it is impossible to please God. Hebrews 11. For we walk by faith, and not by sight. 2 Corinthians 5. With the heart man believeth to righteousness. Romans 10. The faith of the gospel is that emotion of the mind, which is called trust or confidence, exercised towards the moral character of God, and particularly of the Savior.

Faith is an affectionate practical confidence in the testimony of God.

Faith as the bible defines it: Hebrews 11:1

Why faith? Hebrews 11:6 Tells us that without faith it is impossible to please God Galatians 3:22 Tells us that it is by faith in Jesus Christ that we receive “the promise”. Hebrews 11:6 explains that it is impossible to please God without faith because in order to come to God you have to believe in God! Novel thought I know but in order to trust someone or something to save you, you must believe it exists. Think of your last doctor visit, unless you yourself are a doctor you had to take His advice for your condition on faith that he could help you get better. Our souls condition is a sin infection and if you don't turn to Doctor God because you have no faith in Him to heal you, YOU WILL DIE.

Note: Knowledge is not faith, knowing isn't believing, verses, must believe that He is, James 2:19 just knowing there is a God isn't enough! Acts 26:28 “almost thou persuadest me”, this ruler heard the gospel from Paul, lived and ruled in Christ's day, yet died and went to Hell having FIRSTHAND knowledge of Jesus Christ if he never let that knowledge drive him to  belief.

A gift of God
Romans 5:12-21

The price He paid
1st Corinthians 6:19-20, John 3:16, 1st Peter 1:18-19, Acts 20:28 The price God paid for our sin was as high as could be, since sin cannot redeem sin God needed a perfect sacrifice to accomplish an everlasting atonement, He needed a sacrifice of Himself, His perfect blood, from His sinless Son.

Who He has offered the gift to, 1st Timothy 2:3-4, 2nd Peter 3:9. All means ALL.

How long His gift is good for, Malachi 3:6
To say that God would take back the gift He has freely given (1st Corinthians 2:12) is to say that God is capable of changing His mind based on our actions. We know from earlier in this study that all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags to God so if it were possible to lose our salvation it would be impossible to gain it back. Galatians 2:21 and common sense tell us that if we are not able to gain our salvation (Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 3:20) Christ's death would be vain because we would all end up losing our salvation and going to Hell anyway. Also notice ten times in the New Testament the phrase “everlasting life” is used. That phrase means eternal, and never ending.

Romans 8:38-39 “For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,[39]  Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

I hope that this lesson has helped by providing a basic understanding of how to be saved, and what salvation is.
The assignment for this lesson is to memorize as many of the verses on the following page as you are able.

Rom 10:9  That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Rom 10:10  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Rom 10:11  For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
Rom 10:12  For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
Rom 10:13  For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Joh 3:3  Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Act 16:31  And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

Tit 3:5  Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
Tit 3:6  Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;
Tit 3:7  That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

Fundamentals of the Faith Lesson Two The Diety of Christ

 Lesson Two
The deity of Christ

The deity of Jesus Christ is a very important fundamental truth for bible believing Christians. If Christ was just a man then He could not have been an adequate sacrifice for all mankind. He had to be the perfect, sinless, Son of God in order to defeat death and gain everlasting life for all mankind. In this lesson we will examine the truth that Jesus Christ is in fact the Son of God by looking to the Old Testament prophesies, the virgin birth, His sinless life, and lastly His own personal claims about being the Son of God.

Old Testament Prophesies foretell Him
Isaiah 53

The Old Testament proves Jesus Christ to be the messiah, the Son of God. All throughout human history recorded in Gods word there are prophesies concerning the messiah that would not only save Israel but all mankind from their sins. Christ fulfilled over 350 Old Testament prophesies, there are none that He did not fulfill.

Fun Fact: Years ago Peter W. Stoner and Robert C. Newman wrote  the book Science Speaks. The book was based on the science of probability and vouched for by the American Scientific Affiliation. It set out the odds of any one man in all of history fulfilling even only eight of the 60 “major prophecies” not including the other 270+ “minor prophecies”  fulfilled by the life of Christ.

The probability that Jesus of Nazareth could have fulfilled even eight such prophecies would be only 1 in 1017th. That's 1 in 100, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000.

Translate that number to silver dollars, cover the entire state of Texas with them, then stack them till it's all two feet deep and pick just one, that's the odds of any man in history fulfilling JUST eight of the sixty “major prophesies” included in the study. Christ fulfilled them all.

Note: Christ is the only person in history to heal blindness, none before Him none after Him, Isaiah 35:4-6 and in the prophesies we find that the messiah will be God Himself! Genesis 22:8, Isaiah 7:14 Emanuel means God with us.

The Virgin Birth Separates Him
Isaiah 7:14

Luke 1:26-35, Never in history has a child been born with no physical father, it is a scientific impossibility for humans to be conceived without both a father and mother. All throughout our Bible we have evidences that God can do things that are impossible for man, creation, worldwide flood, ten plagues of Egypt, water from a rock, bread falling from the sky, the sun standing still in the sky, and many evidences that God has none of the limits we are accustomed to. For anyone who understands science and anatomy it is clear that either Mary was not a virgin and the bible is wrong, or Jesus Christ is Gods Son.

His sinless life sanctifies Him
2nd Corinthians 5:21

One of the names of Christ is, Lamb of God, this is because He is the sacrifice for our sins. In the Old Testament God required a perfect spotless lamb to be sacrificed for the atonement of the sins of Israel.

Christ came as the perfect Lamb of God to gain forgiveness for all who will trust in His righteousness! 1st Peter 1:18-19
Why it matters
Man is born in sin Hebrews 4:15, Romans 5:12-19, Mankind is born into corrupted flesh,  Psalm 51:5, our nature is to lust, envy, dispute, in short, our nature or natural man is born with a desire to sin. This is why Christ Himself teaches that a man must be born again John 3:3-7, in order to reach Heaven, because man is not righteous we must put on the righteousness of Jesus Christ Romans 3:23-26.
As a result man cannot redeem man Psalm 49:7-8 Just as a debtor cannot pay the debt of another debtor because he is not able to pay even his own debts, a sinner cannot gain forgiveness for the sins of others since he has not forgiveness for himself.
The alternative if Jesus Christ is not God than the only other things He could logically be are either a liar, or an insane person because He Himself claimed to be God.

His own words testify of His Deity
John 1:1,14

Multiple times throughout the gospels the Jews attempted to kill Christ because He claimed to be God. If Christ's own words and the Jewish leaders response to them do not convince you that Jesus Christ did in fact on multiple occasions claim to be God the Son then nothing will. Examples: John 10:27-39, John 8:58, The Jews reaction was in line with Leviticus 24:16 (If He had not been God) more examples John 20:28 here Christ does not “correct” Thomas because Thomas was correct in calling Jesus God! Other evidences in scripture would be Acts 20:28 which tells us that God purchased the church with His own blood! Also Revelation 19:10 and Exodus 34:14 we are warned to worship only God, yet Christ was often worshipped and never rebuked those who worshipped Him.

There is no logical way to read Gods word and claim that Jesus is not God or never claimed to be God, the deity of Christ is very clear and it is very important. He isn't a liar, He isn't insane, He is the Son of God!

The assignment for this lesson is to write a one page essay using at least three scripture references on why the Deity of Christ matters, what it means to you, and why a man cannot atone for the sins of another man.

Fundamentals of the Faith Lesson One Gods Word

Lesson One
The word of God

“If something is different it is not the same.” – Pastor M. Adam Summers

Without establishing the final and complete authority of Gods word we cannot trust in anything that Gods word says. All of our doctrines and beliefs depend upon the word of God. If Gods word were not perfect, it could not be trusted and we would have no solid foundation upon which to build our faith. In this lesson we will establish from Gods word and from comparisons of modern perversions of God’s word that the King James Bible is the complete, immutable, inspired, inerrant word of God, so that we may confidently study and trust the doctrines that we find therein.

God’s word is important
Psalm 138:2

The bible tells us that God has magnified His word above “all” His name Philippians 2:10-11 states that at the name of Christ every knee shall one day bow and every tongue confess that Christ is Lord. Yet God has magnified His word above that name, Jesus is referred to as the Lamb of God that take the away the sin of the world, John 1:29. Yet God has magnified His word above that name! God has many names, Yahweh, Jehovah, the Rock, the Door, the Good Shepherd, the Alpha and Omega, and many more yet God Himself has magnified His word above ALL His name! If Gods word is that important in His eyes, then it ought to be of utmost importance to us.

 God’s word is pure
Psalm 12:6, Proverbs 30:5

Think of Gods word as a pitcher of water, if it has one crack in it, it becomes useless, likewise if it has one spot of filth inside all the water becomes tainted. 1st Corinthians 5:6 tells us that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump. One error and the entire bible could not be trusted, what if John 3:16 was an error, or Genesis chapter one was an error, or the gospel of Luke was an error? If you cannot trust the ENTIRE BIBLE than the ENTIRE BIBLE becomes untrustworthy, which would make the foundation upon which we hold our doctrines and beliefs to be unsure. Thankfully, Gods word is pure, no errors, and no contradictions, when studied thoroughly all scripture agrees and none is errant.

God’s word is Holy Ghost inspired
2nd Peter 1:20-21

If Gods word was simply a book written by men than it would be nothing special, and it would not and could not be as pure and inerrant as it is, seeing as man is prone to error. The only way a book of such magnitude with so many different men behind the pens could be in such perfect agreement and lack any contradiction is if it has one author. Gods Spirit spoke to the hearts of Gods men and inspired Gods written word.

God’s word is final and complete
Revelation 22:18-19, Proverbs 30:6, Deuteronomy 4:2,
Galatians 1:8-9

God’s word is finished, it is whole, and though we oftentimes would long for more detail in certain scriptures like Genesis 1 and 2 God has given us exactly what He desires us to know, and everything we need to know in this life. The answer to every question is found in God’s word.
 God’s word is everlasting
Matthew 24:35, Mark 13:31, Luke21:33, 1st Peter 1:25, Isaiah 40:8

Things don’t last. Great works of art adored across the globe are protected by climate and moisture controlled glass cases because if they were not they would soon stain, tear, fade, and eventually turn to dust. All things of this earth are temporal except for two. The human soul, and the word of God.

God’s word is unchanging and immutable Malachi 3:6, Hebrews13:8

People change their minds most times, we change our minds about what we believe, what we want to do, how we want to live, etc. God however does not change and praise Him for that! If God could change His word and decide to give every human the Hell we deserve that would be the end of mankind. However God has told us that we are not consumed because He does not change and He never will. Therefore what He has written concerning His judgment upon a matter does not change with culture, time, or popularity. Sin is sin, Jesus is the only way John 14:6, Hell awaits unbelievers, and all who call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

God’s word is promised
Psalm 12:6-7

If the original manuscripts of the bible were the only pure “version” of Gods word then the Holy Spirit in Psalm 12 would be a liar, since God cannot lie, Titus 1:2 we know that the purity of God’s word still remains to this day.

Note: To say that only the original manuscripts were the pure word of God is to say that God can't adequately translate His word, into the languages that He created,
Genesis 11:7-9

Note: People claim purity is lost in translation between the original Greek and Hebrew to English  but interestingly enough every use of the word translate in the Bible is an improving of the former, not a diluting. 2nd Samuel 3:10, Hebrews 11:5, Colossians 1:13

Note: God does not mess up! If you were to say that there are more than one “versions” of His word in ONE LANGUAGE and that BOTH are the word of God you are saying that God was wrong the first time and had to change Malachi 3:6 how He wanted His word translated. You cannot have two different messages, worded two different ways, and claim that they are the same exact thing.

If something is different, it is not the same.

Compare the “Versions”
Without going into a deep historical study on the influence of the Catholic Church on modern translations or the heresies of the modern translators Wescott and Hort we will simply compare side by side some examples from the King James Bible to the exact verses in other modern “perversions” to see the differences and why they are important.

After the verse reference the first verse is KJV followed by niv nab and nwt in that order.
AV (King James) New International New American Standard New World Translation

Note: Many of these references do not include the entire verses, just the parts that were changed, for best learning please look up each reference in your King James Bible for comparison as well as context.
