Sermon notes: Where's your joy unspeakable?

Where's your Joy unspeakable?
1st Peter 1:7-9

"That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:(1:8)    Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:
(1:9)    Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls."

If you have been saved from sin but today you find yourself without that joy unspeakable, you may have asked yourself "what is wrong?"

Is the problem sin? Do I have no joy because I still do wrong?

1st Peter 1:15-16 it is a very sad thing when we fail, and fall but as long as we're here on earth we will commit sin, and sin causes sorrow.

So how do we experience joy even as an imperfect sinner?

Is the problem those around us?
It is very hard to have joy when we are surrounded by ungodly, sad, and miserable people. In fact God warns us to stay away from many types of people.

Psalm 1:1-2, ungodly, and scornful people
Romans 6:17-18 those who cause strife and division
1st Timothy 6:20 those who are vain

The people we are around can often have a dramatic effect on our happiness but can they prevent or steal away our joy?

Is the problem with God?

Malachi 3:6 God doesn't change so what is the situation?

If your not saved you cannot have joy, period Ephesians 2:12

But if you are washed in the blood of Jesus Christ... Ephesians 2:13-14

Romans 5:8-11
If you are a born again believer all you have to do to get that joy unspeakable back in your life is remember what Jesus Christ did for you! Get back to the cross, the tomb, the stone rolled away!

Luke 24:1-8 my favorite account of the resurrection morning of Christ.

Vs 8 remember His words and your joy can be restored!
