S.S.S. Study Conduct of the church week 5

S.S.S. Study The Conduct of the Church
Family School at Faith Baptist Church
Week 5: Reaching the lost

Who are the lost?
ANYONE not trusting in the Christ of the Bible for their salvation. John 14:6
Why reach the lost?
Gods desire: 2nd Peter 3:9 Jesus command: Matthew 28:18-19
Our joy: Philippians 4:1, also joy in serving the Lord
Where do we reach the lost?
Home: John 4:53, John 1:40-41 Town: Mark 5:17-20
Country: Acts 18:23 World: Acts 17:4-6
Wherever you can: Acts 14:4-7,
It is our job to reach the lost, if the lost do not come to us (church) it is our holy duty to take the message of salvation to them wherever they are! Many times the apostles preached in the Jews synagogs, the temples, and the streets, they preached wherever there were people who needed to hear! Your Christianity should not be locked in the church.
When do we reach the lost?
Always! 1st Peter 3:15. Good day or bad, rain or shine, we must reach the lost!
How do we reach the lost
1. By preaching! 1st Corinthians 1:17-23.
Simply: 1st Corinthians 2:1-5
Boldly/unashamedly: Ephesians 6:19-20, Romans 1:15-16
Loudly: Psalm 98:4, 12 times in revelations the phrase "loud voice" is used.
Repeatedly: Over and over again throughout both Jesus's ministry and the ministry of the apostles after the day of pentecost, preaching, teaching, constantly, all the time everywhere, towns, cities, boats, islands, little crowds big crowds, to religious and un religious! See: Acts 15:35, 18:11, 19:10, 20:7-12
2. By living holy: Philippians 1:27, 1st Peter 1:15,3:1
3. By the scripture: Romans 1:16, Romans 10:14-17

Beware of the false doctrines!
Calvinism- becoming more popular in America, (very popular in France)
Their thought: Calvinists believe that God already has a set plan that some men will be saved and some lost, no matter what we do down here.
What the bible teaches:
Gods will is for all to be saved, 2nd Peter 3:9
Man has a free will to accept or deny salvation, John 3:15-18
Note: In Revelations there are many numbers given, but the only number given that is not an exact number... Revelations 5:9-11, 7:9
Conforming- Common practice among churches of all denominations today.
Their thought: Do whatever it takes to get the crowds in.
What the bible teaches: 1st Peter 2:9, 1st Thessalonians 5:22, Romans 12:2, Acts 5:27-33
